Welcome to the Pioneer Motor Cycle Club Website

It seems that to make it to the top in trials these days you to have a minder. And with having a minder comes the necessity to learn to communicate clearly. That requires shouting loudly and using the correct phrases. Here’s some I picked up at the recent nationals in Alexandra.

Minder…             “I Want a Big One”

“I want it here”

Rider….            “I want you on top Wadsy”

Minder…            “Suck it in”

“Hold it back”

“Now make it stick”

It is important to remember not to practice these phrases too far from a trials section. To hear these sorts of things coming from say, your Motel room, could raise a few eyebrows.

Lesser riders may have to start out on some phrases with less impact and work their way up. A good couple to start on might be..

“Give it Fertilizer” or “Too much throttle you Ninken-poop”

We have just made some suttle changes to the Website and added a couple of new categories.

First we have given "The Megaphone" its own page. We will be adding back issues soon. (as soon as I work out how to use the scanner).

We have also added a "Bikes For Sale" page. For now we are not charging anything for ads on this page and will post ads for any trials bikes (old and new), parts, clothing, whatever as long as it's trials related. Just send us the details and pictures via our contact page.

2009 New Zealand Oceanic Trials Championship Team Applications

MNZ are calling for suitable applications to fill the team positions for the 2009 Oceanic Trials championships.  This event is to be held in Nelson over the Easter weekend of 11th-12th April and will also comprise of Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2009 South Island Champs. The team requires three members and will be competing against three visiting Australian riders of the same grade.

We require: 1 Expert Grade rider

1 Junior 21years and under riding the A Grade

1 Master rider 35 years + also riding the A Grade line.

Unfortunately due to all funding going towards the travelling International team there will be no financial assistance available to NZ team members.

As a special event the organising committee have also secured the appearance of former World No 2 Takumi Narita from Japan who will be attending and also running trails schools in the days following the event. Also there are strong indications that some Scottish riders who currently live and compete in the USA will also be attending and a strong contingent of club riders from Sydney may be coming to experience some top NZ trials riding. With high levels of local and National media coverage for this event, it is shaping up to be one of NZs biggest events of the year and one not to be missed. Please send all applications to the Trials Commissioner and the closing date for applications will be the 31st Jan 2009.

For more information on the team and applications contact: Warren Laugesen: warren.carron@clear.net.nz
